BEVERLY, MA — Beverly residents can donate to a good cause in memory of a dedicated police officer and receive back a fun, replica of the city's favorite celebrity seal this weekend.

The Beverly Police Department is hosting the Officer Sean Connolly Memorial Toy Drive on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the first 500 people who donate a new, unwrapped toy getting back a swell, little Shoebert the Seal squeezable stress reliever (shown above).

This is the third year of the Connolly Toy Drive at the North Beverly Plaza.

Connolly, of Rowley, died unexpectedly on Oct. 29, 2020. He was 53 years old.

Connolly worked for the police departments in Hamilton and Beverly.
