One Woman Dead, One Man in Critical Condition After Drunk Driver, 31, Runs a Red Light
A Beverly man is facing a number of charges in connection with the crash on Sunday night.

A 45-year-old woman was killed, and a 45-year-old man is in critical condition, after a car ran a red light Sunday night and struck a truck in Beverly, according to the Essex District Attorney’s office.
Authorities said that a 2013 Cadillac SRX driving in Elliott Street (Route 62) went through a red light at Elliott Street and Rantoul Street and struck a 2000 Ford 150 driving on Rantoul Street just after 9 p.m. Sunday.
The woman passenger was transported to Beverly Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to the district attorney’s office. The 48-year-old male driver of the Ford F150 was transported to Beverly Hospital and was listed in critical condition on Monday morning.

The operator of the Cadillac, Todd Porter, 31, of , Beverly, was been charged with operating under the influence, operating under the influence of causing serious harm, motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence, unlicensed operation, speeding, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and red light violation.
Porter was transported to Beverly Hospital with leg and back injuries, and may have been transported to another area hospital.

Details of his arraignment have not yet been announced. Authorities have not yet released the names of the people.
