Sister Duo Follows Hair Salon Dream
A new hair salon in Beverly is owned by a pair of sisters who have dreamed of owning their own salon together since high school.
A pair of sisters just over a year apart have dreamed of owning their own hair salon.
Lindsey and Shay Gatterson came up for the name of their hair salon combining their names - LiShay Hair Salon - while students at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School. At about a decade later, the two sisters were able to put it up in front of their dream.
LiShay Hair Salon opened at the corner of Herrick Street and Sohier Road, next to Beverly High School, this spring. It replaced Raphael's Hair Salon, which was at the location for about 30 years.

"This was always our dream," Shay said. "We used to cut our Barbie doll's hair when we were kids."
Right now, it is just the two sisters doing hair and their mother, Jana, selling jewelry - Jewelry by Jana. But eventually their plan to fill all of the salon's chairs.
