Person With Fake Gun Prompts Lockdown At 2 Boston Colleges: Officials
The lockdowns were implemented at Massachusetts College of Art and Design and Wentworth Institute of Technology on Wednesday.

BOSTON, MA — Massachusetts College of Art and Design and Wentworth Institute of Technology campuses were locked down Wednesday after a student reported an armed person near MassArt's artists' residence, according to a statement from the university.
Police were called to the area around 1:15 p.m., NBC Boston reported. Authorities later determined the armed person was actually someone who doing a Halloween photo shoot with a fake gun, according to the station.
A Wentworth student made the report, according to university officials.

Police searched the building and gave the all-clear shortly before 3:30 p.m. The lockdowns at both schools were lifted soon after police cleared the building, according to MassArt officials/
All Wednesday evening classes at MassArt were canceled.
