6 Dead, 9 Seriously Hurt In Four Massachusetts Crashes Saturday

A tragic day on the interstates has resulted in six dead, a number that grew throughout Sunday.

Four crashes on Massachusetts interstates Saturday resulted in six deaths and nine seriousy injuries, according to police. One crash on Interstate 95 in Attleboro saw all 11 members of a tour group thrown from the van. Here's what we know so far from Saturday's crashes:

Attleboro

Two people died in a rollover crash involving a tour van that seriously injured nine others on I-95. Police said the van was part of a tour group that caters to Polish-Americans and may have picked up passengers in Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York City and the group was en route to various places in Massachusetts.

The van was driving on I-95 north near Exit 3 when it was struck by a Toyota RAV4 driving in the next lane. Both vehicles crossed over the median and all 11 people in the van were thrown from the van in a rollover crash. Two people in the van died, while the other nine suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the Toyota, a 32-year-old woman from East Providence, Rhode Island, was brought to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries.

I-95 south was closed for some time Saturday afternoon.

Andover

A 16-year-old from Tewksbury died Sunday, a day after he lost control of a sport utility vehicle on I-93 north and drove off the road and rolled over into a sign post. The victim, who was the only person in the car, was brought to Lawrence General Hospital and then Leahy Hospital in Burlington.

Boston

Two motorcyclists died early Saturday after they crashed in the O'Neill Tunnel. State police said the riders were part of a group of several motorcyclists driving on I-93 north around 2 a.m. when they lost control at Exit 23. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified the victims as Jerry Alphonse, 28, of Everett, and Aralt Cesaire, 26, of Medford,

At least two other motorcyclists who were with the victims stayed on scene.

Tunnel lanes were closed for several hours.

Amesbury

A 21-year-old New York woman was killed after her Jeep veered off the right side of I-495 and crashed around 9 p.m. Sabrina Milone was brought to Anna Jaques Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Milone was the only person in the Jeep.
