The restaurant did not give a reason for the closure.

Chickadee opened in 2018. The restaurant was led by chef John daSilva and Ted Kilpatrick, and described itself as blending New England ingredients with Mediterranean flavors.

In its farewell note, the restaurant thanked customers, staff, Boston and the Seaport District, saying regulars and diners helped make the restaurant “so much more than a place to eat.”

The restaurant also invited customers to visit during its final week for a last meal or drink before Saturday’s closing.

Chickadee drew local and national attention after opening. The Boston Globe named it Restaurant of the Year in 2018, according to Boston.com. The restaurant was also a James Beard semifinalist for Best New Restaurant, according to BostonChefs.com.
