South Station Starbucks Stays Closed After More Mice Found: Reports

BOSTON, MA — A South Station Starbucks that was shut down after a viral video showed mice in a display case will remain closed due to additional rodents found during a city inspection, according to reports.

"Boston Inspectional Services conducted an evaluation of the Starbucks, located at 700 Atlantic Ave., after receiving a complaint regarding the video posted to social media Thursday," a Boston.com story said. "The video, which has garnered more than 228,000 views on TikTok, depicted rats scurrying along the Starbucks counter and feeding inside the display case."

And things apparently got worse from there.

"During a follow-up inspection on Tuesday, health inspectors found three dead mice on a glue trap, health officials said," WCVB reported.

"The inspection report said the owner was instructed to contact pest control," according to CBS. "The department said the Starbucks won't be allowed to reopen 'until all required corrective actions have been completed and compliance have been verified.'"
