3 Arrested After Police Break Up Late-Night Boston Gathering

This underage group was causing a disturbance while using alcohol and marijuana, according to police.

BOSTON, MA — Three people were arrested after Boston Police recovered a loaded ghost gun during a foot pursuit early Thursday morning.

Jahmere Antenor, 18, of Boston, Samuel Morel, 22, of Roxbury, and Isaiah Morel, 20, of Roxbury, were arrested after officers responded at approximately 12:38 a.m. to the area of 76 Weaver Way for a report of a group blocking the roadway and drinking alcohol. Upon arrival, officers reportedly found a group near several illegally parked vehicles and saw people who appeared to be underage drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana, and urinating in public.

Police said five people began quickly walking away after officers exited their cruiser. Officers focused their attention on Antenor, who was allegedly smoking marijuana and attempting to move ahead of the group while shielding the right side of his body.

When officers attempted to conduct a pat-down frisk, Antenor allegedly ran from the area. Police said two other members of the group attempted to block officers during the ensuing foot pursuit. Antenor was reportedly seen removing a firearm from his waistband and throwing it underneath a parked vehicle before he was apprehended with assistance from responding officers.

As a larger group began gathering around the scene, Isaiah Morel was placed in handcuffs for allegedly drinking in public. During that arrest, Samuel Morel allegedly began pushing officers and was subsequently taken into custody for interfering with the investigation.

The firearm recovered during the pursuit was determined to be a Polymer80 ghost gun with a laser attachment and four rounds of ammunition inside a magazine capable of holding 15 rounds.

Antenor is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a large-capacity feeding device, and resisting arrest.

Samuel Morel is charged with assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, and obstruction of justice. In contrast, Isaiah Morel is charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol and drinking alcohol in public. Police also summoned two additional people on obstruction of justice charges.
