BOSTON, MA — A man died after being struck by an MBTA Green Line trolley in Brighton Wednesday night, according to a report from NBC10 Boston.
Boston police, firefighters, and Boston EMS responded to the Washington Street stop along the B Branch after receiving a report that someone was under a train. Boston EMS told NBC10 Boston that a person had been declared dead.
Transit police said the man had intentionally entered the right of way as a trolley approached just before 9 p.m. at Commonwealth Avenue and Washington Street. He was pronounced dead due to his injuries. Transit police extended their condolences to his family and friends.
The incident disrupted service along the B Branch Wednesday night. Shortly after 9 p.m., the MBTA announced that shuttle buses were replacing trains between Babcock Street and Boston College.
