BOSTON, MA — Two men were rescued after a car crashed into an occupied home in Jamaica Plain Monday afternoon, leaving the vehicle suspended approximately 10 feet above the ground.
Crews responded to the crash at 28 Glen Road at approximately 3:15 p.m., according to the Boston Fire Department. The car went through two fences before striking the building and coming to rest between a retaining wall and the home, with its front end against the building's windows.
Firefighters stabilized the vehicle from underneath and along its sides before helping the two trapped men out. Both men were brought to safe ground for treatment by EMS crews and suffered minor injuries. People inside the home were not injured.
A crane was later used to remove the vehicle. The city's Inspectional Services Department will evaluate damage to the occupied home.
Preliminary information reportedly indicated speed may have been a factor and that the driver's foot may have become stuck on the accelerator. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
