Arrest Made In Boston Cold Case Murder
One person is facing charges nearly three decades later.
BOSTON, MA — The police department made an arrest in a nearly 30-year-old murder case on Tuesday.
Brian Keazer, 50, was arrested in Jamaica Plain for the murder of Ruth Foster in 1997. According to the department, Foster was found stabbed to death on her bed at her home on 47 Withington St. in Dorchester on Oct. 14, 1997. The death of the 56-year-old was ruled a homicide.
According to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, Keazer stabbed Foster 37 times before fleeing her apartment. He is believed to have broken through the front door upon leaving, as blood and broken glass were found on the ground. The key component of evidence that led to Keazer's arrest was matching the DNA from the man's spit on a siedwalk with that of blood found at the scene of the crime.
