Bellingham Man Pleads Guilty In Fatal Pedestrian Collision In Roxbury

The 47-year-old pleaded guilty Tuesday to motor vehicle homicide and OUI charges.

BOSTON, MA — A Bellingham man this week pleaded guilty in following a fatal pedestrian collision last October that left one person dead and two others injured.

Kevin McCaffrey, 47, pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide while under the influence of drugs and a charge of operating under the influence, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden. He was then sentenced to up to five years in state prison and seven years of probation.

The collision happened on Oct. 16 2021 near 10:30 a.m. when McCaffrey drove his Honda Civic off Theodore Glynn Parkway and into three pedestrians. Lisa Vadeboncoeur, 59, died after the collision. A second victim was seriously injured, and a third was released from the hospital the day of the collision.

A toxicology test after the fatal collision showed McCaffrey's blood was positive for fentanyl, cocaine and benzodiazepines, according to the DA.
