Berklee College Student Indicted After Political Fight Over China: DOJ
The man harassed another student posting fliers near Berklee promoting political action in China, according to the DOJ.
BOSTON, MA — A federal grand jury Tuesday indicted a Berklee College student on stalking charges after he harassed another student who was promoting political action in China, according to federal prosecutors.
Xiaolei Wu, 25, a Chinese citizen, was indicted on charges of cyberstalking and interstate transmission of a threat. He targeted another Berklee student who was posting fliers near Berklee that said "Stand with Chinese People" and "We Want Democracy," among other political messages.
Wu later sent his classmate threatening online messages, including one where he said he reported the other student to Chinese authorities, according to the charges.

"Post more, I will chop your bastard hands off," one message said, according to prosecutors.
Wu was initially arrested on Dec. 13. He is facing up to five years in federal prison on each charge, according to federal prosecutors.
