Boston Bombing Survivor Hospitalized After Being Hit By Car
She had been training to run the 26.2 miles again this year, according to posts on Instagram.

BOSTON, MA — The former professional dancer who lost her leg in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings posted a photo of her on a gurney in a hospital to Instagram after she was hit by a car while crossing Commonwealth Avenue this weekend.
Adrianne Haslet lost part of her left leg in the April 15, 2013, bombing near the finish line on Boylston Street. But she was determined to not let that stop her. She continued to dance, appearing on“Dancing With The Stars.” And then she returned triumphantly to the marathon in 2016, finishing the race with a prosthetic leg.
Haslet has since become an advocate for amputee rights, a public speaker, and defines herself as a dancer and adventurer on her web page.

“I refuse to be called a victim. A victim is defined by what happened in their life. I am a survivor, defined by how I live my life,” she quotes herself saying on her website.
She had been training using a prosthetic running blade, planning to run the 26.2-mile run this year, according to posts on Instagram. But she posted the news that she would need more surgery to Instagram Sunday night:
