Boston Calling 2019: Local Artist Roundup

Massachusetts is bringing some of the best talent to Boston Calling 2019, including Guster, DJ Frank White, Pile, and Sidney Gish.

BOSTON — So you're wondering who is local at Boston Calling this year? There are options. From five-time Boston Music Award winning DJ Frank White Friday, to Guster, who formed at Tufts and became known for songs like "Satellite" and "Amsterdam," there's a lot of local talent hitting the stage at the three-day music festival. Boston Calling kicks off on Friday afternoon at the Harvard Athletic Complex.

Guster, the popular 90s alternative rock group started out locally at Tufts. If you're looking to hear some nostalgia like "Satellite", or check out new tracks like "Overexcited," go see Guster's set, Sunday at 4:25 p.m., on the Delta Stage.

Other local artists Betty Who from Berklee hits the stage Saturday 2:05 p.m. on the Red Stage. DJ Joshua Carl, from Cape Cod, hopes to make the entire Arena dance on Sunday, 7:30 p.m.

Claire Cottrill, or Clairo, hails from Carlisle. She's known for 2017's “Pretty Girl.” This YouTube of her has 32 million + hits. She hits the stage at 2:55 p.m., Saturday, on the Green Stage.DJ Frank White has brought some of Boston's favorite dance sets to the city for a number of years, winning five Boston Music Awards. Check out his set at 7:30 p.m., Friday in the Arena.
Pile, which is from Boston hits the stage Saturday 1:15 p.m. Green Stage. If you're into something a little more experimental — sometimes chill, sometimes aesthetically rough around the edges, you're not going to want to miss this set.

Sidney Gish hails from Boston and New Jersey and is bringing her quirky, indie rock style to the festival stage. She performs at 12:45 p.m., Saturday, on the Red Stage.
