BOSTON, MA — A Boston woman was rescued from a White Mountains trail over the weekend after a serious fall.

The 77-year-old was hiking the Champney Falls trail Saturday afternoon when she fell and injured her hip, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game.

A team of rescue personnel from fish and game, Lakes Region Search and Rescue, U.S. Forest Service and the Conway Fire Department hiked about 2 miles into the forest to help the woman. She was loaded onto a litter and carried out of the forest. She was then taken to Memorial Hospital in North Conway for an evaluation, fish and game officials said.
