BOSTON, MA — Boston police Wednesday released images of a man who is a "person of interest" in the stabbing of educator and local civil rights pioneer Jean McGuire.
McGuire was walking her dog around 8 p.m. on Oct. 11 near a Franklin Park pathway off Seaver Street when she was attacked. McGuire suffered several stab wounds, but has been released from a local hospital.
The former METCO executive director appeared at a news conference Tuesday after being discharged from Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital. She said she will no longer walk alone in the park at night, and thanked the two people came to her aid after the attack.
