Boston 'SOB' Union Leader Spars With Oklahoma Senator: Watch
A Boston union leader got into a heated exchange with a Republican senator during a Congressional hearing Wednesday.
BOSTON, MA — Teamsters President Sean O’Brien had words for Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) during a Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee hearing. The two clashed during a Wednesday hearing on union-busting tactics, according to The Hill.
A video of the exchange on Twitter has received more than 329,000 views. O'Brien's Twitter handle is @TeamsterSOB.
O’Brien said that Mullin was “out of line” after the GOP senator claimed the union leader was “sucking the paycheck” out of workers to earn his salary, which was about $193,000 in 2019.

Mullin then told O'Brien to "shut your mouth." O'Brien responded: "We hold greedy CEOs like yourself accountable." He then asked how much Mullin made when he owned his company.
Mullin responded that he made $50,000 in salary, choosing to invest the rest in his company.

O'Brien then accused Mullin of hiding money, which did not please the senator.
"You think you're smart?" Mullin said. "You think you're funny? You're not."
Mullin sold his plumbing-services-related company HomeTown Services in 2021 and has reported assets of $31.6 million to $75.6 million, The Tulsa World reported.
When Mullin was a member of the House in 2013, the Office of Congressional Ethics opened an investigation into accusations that he received more than $600,000 in outside income, far exceeding set limits. The investigation concluded in 2018 when Mullin was ordered to repay $40,000 to one of his businesses, The Hill reported.
O'Brien became a Teamsters leader in 2006 when he was elected president of the Local 25 in Charlestown. The union's membership increased by more than 30 percent under his leadership, according to his bio. He was elected Eastern Region Vice President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters in 2011.
