One brother worked at the location the pair orchestrated the theft from.

BOSTON, MA — Two men were sentenced to prison for staging a robbery at a West Roxbury credit union where one of them worked as a teller, the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts announced.

Jenel Flounoury, 30, and Justin Flounoury, 34, of Brockton, were each sentenced to four months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. The brothers were also ordered to jointly pay $197,146 in restitution. Both pleaded guilty in July 2026 to one count of conspiracy to commit larceny from a credit union.

According to authorities, Jenel Flounoury and Justin Flounoury staged the robbery of Energy Credit Union on Sept. 24, 2024. Justin Flounoury arranged to leave his job in South Boston early and was driven to the credit union, where Jenel Flounoury was employed as a teller. Cellphone location records documented Justin Flounoury’s travel to the credit union and his presence during the robbery.

Justin Flounoury concealed his identity by wearing a hat, dark clothing, sunglasses, and a mask. Once inside, he approached his brother’s teller window and handed him a note that read, “Hand it Over.” Rather than providing the limited amount of cash in his teller drawer, Jenel Flounoury entered the credit union’s vault and collected nearly $200,000. He then retrieved a bag from inside the vault, filled it with cash, and handed it to Justin Flounoury.

Justin Flounoury fled the credit union and returned to the residence he shared with Jenel Flounoury, according to cellphone location records. The brothers were later observed burning dark-colored clothing consistent with what was worn during the robbery in a grill at their residence. During a search of the home, authorities recovered more than $160,000 in cash, including 10 $100 bills with serial numbers matching those recorded by credit union employees before the robbery.
