SHAI WOSNER, piano
Shai Wosner is an internationally renowned pianist celebrated for artistic integrity and inventive programming. NPR praised his “keen musical mind and deep musical soul.” He gave the world premiere of Vijay Iyer’s Piano Concerto Handmade Universe for him and the East Coast Chamber Orchestra, and champions collaborations that fuse canonical works with new commissions. A frequent soloist and chamber musician at major venues worldwide, he collaborates with artists such as Joshua Bell and Martin Fröst, and his Beethoven symphonies are widely performed as piano-trio arrangements. Born in Israel, he studied with Emanuel Ax at Juilliard, where he now teaches.
STELLA CHEN, violin
Stella Chen is acclaimed for “silken grace” and “brilliant command” (The Strad) after winning the 2019 Queen Elizabeth Competition. Her debut Stella x Schubert earned Gramophone’s Young Artist of the Year. She appears with major orchestras worldwide and at premier venues such as the Vienna Musikverein, Concertgebouw, and Berlin Philharmonie, often with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Her 2025–26 season includes concerto debuts with Vancouver, Cincinnati, and Antwerp, plus an American tour with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and a Juilliard-affiliated teaching role. She performs on the 1720 General Kyd Stradivarius, loaned by Dr. Ryuji Ueno and Rare Violins In Consortium.
MATTHEW LIPMAN, viola
Matthew Lipman, praised by The New York Times for his “rich tone and elegant phrasing” and by The Chicago Tribune for his “splendid technique and musical sensitivity,” is a leading violist of his generation. He has appeared with the Chicago Symphony, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Munich and Minnesota orchestras, and collaborated with conductors such as Marriner, Vänskä, Gardner, and Botstein. A champion of contemporary music, Lipman has premiered works by Clarice Assad, Helen Grime, Malika Kishino, and David Ludwig. His debut album Ascent (Cedille) features the world premiere recording of Shostakovich’s Impromptu for viola and piano; he has additional releases on Sony Classical, Deutsche Grammophon, and Avie. A longtime Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center member, Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient, he teaches at Stony Brook University and performs on a Zygmuntowicz viola.
BRANNON CHO, cello
Brannon Cho is the First Prize winner of the 6th International Paulo Cello Competition and a prizewinner at the Queen Elisabeth, Naumburg, and Cassadó competitions. He has appeared as a soloist with major orchestras including the Helsinki Philharmonic, Minnesota Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Belgian National Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic, and Brussels Philharmonic. Born in New Jersey, he studied at Northwestern University and the New England Conservatory, and now trains at Kronberg Academy under Frans Helmerson. He performs on a rare 1668 Antonio Casini cello.
