Join us at the School of Fashion Design for a presentation and conversation with local author and researcher Anne Marie Murphy as we celebrate the release of her latest book, A Proper Fit: Women at Work in a City of Corsets. Drawing on decades of experience as a researcher and small business owner, Murphy uncovers the stories of the women entrepreneurs and workers who helped shape Worcester MA into a center of corset manufacturing.&nbsp; Join us and discover how fashion, business, and women's history intersect.&nbsp;

Across generations, women are (disproportionately) navigating increasing demands of caregiving: raising children, supporting aging parents, sustaining families, and contributing meaningfully at work. Yet the modern workplace has not kept pace. The result? A growing care gap - an invisible but powerful force shaping burnout, retention, leadership dynamics, and inequity in today’s society.
This one-day summit brings together women leaders across generations to explore:
<ul><li>How caregiving realities and mindsets are shifting across generations</li><li>Where misunderstanding and tension show up</li><li>How leadership and systems must evolve</li><li>What practical, realistic actions leaders can take right now</li></ul>

Free Bra Fittings to Support Breast Cancer Awareness

As America’s 250th anniversary celebrations continue, the State Library of Massachusetts will welcome celebrated author and historian Byron Williams as part of its monthly Author Talks series. Williams will discuss his latest book, Liberty and Equality in America: Examining the Radical and Paradoxical Legacy of the Declaration of Independence. Guided by the notion of contradiction, Liberty and Equality in America examines the enduring tension between the ideals enshrined in the Declaration of Independence and the paradoxes that have shaped the American experiment. Drawing on his work as a historian, author and educator, Williams offers a timely perspective on the Declaration’s promises of liberty and equality and the complicated history of those ideals in practice. The program will feature a presentation from Williams, followed by an audience Q&amp;A and an opportunity for attendees to purchase copies of his book and have them signed. As Massachusetts, and Boston in particular, reflects on its pivotal role in the American Revolution and the founding of the nation, Williams provides a compelling voice on the Declaration’s enduring legacy and the questions it continues to raise 250 years later.
