Dorchester Man, 91, Critically Injured In Crosswalk By SUV Driver

The pedestrian was crossing near Morton and Selden streets Thursday morning when a driver in a BMW hit him.

DORCHESTER, MA — A 91-year-old man was critically injured by a driver Thursday morning while crossing a street in Dorchester, according to state police.

The man was in a crosswalk near Morton and Selden streets just after 9:30 a.m. when a 62-year-old driver in a BMW SUV plowed into the pedestrian, state police reported.

The driver pulled over and stayed at the scene while state police detectives investigated the collision. Police did not immediately announce any charges against the driver.

State police said the pedestrian was taken to Beth Israel Hospital, and was in critical condition as of Thursday evening.

Morton Street — also known as Route 203 — was closed near Selden until around noon Thursday due to the investigation.
