First Night Boston Will Be Live This New Year

Once again, Bostonians can enjoy fireworks, ice sculptures, concerts and more with an in-person First Night NYE celebration.

BOSTON, MA — New Englanders will once again ring in the New Year in style: First Night Boston will return to the city for a series of in-person celebrations on Dec. 31.

The event, which has marked the New Year with parades, fireworks, ice sculptures, live entertainment, and more since 1977, tweeted last week that it will celebrate in-person for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

Last year, the famous event was converted into a broadcast-only event that aired a variety of Boston-area performances on NBC. This year, the public is invited to 12 hours of free entertainment centered around Copley Plaza in Back Bay.
