Former Boston Mayor Marty Walsh To Leave Biden Admin: Report
Walsh would be the first head of a major agency or department to leave his position during Biden's presidency.

BOSTON, MA — Sitting U.S. Secretary of Labor and former mayor of Boston Marty Walsh is set to soon leave the Biden administration and become Executive Director of the NHL Players’ Association, CNN and the Daily Faceoff reported, respectively.
Sources told CNN that Walsh's departure is expected to be announced after Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday evening.

According to a biography provided by the U.S. Department of Labor, Boston native Martin J. Walsh was sworn in as the 29th Secretary of Labor on March 23, 2021.
Walsh was first elected in 1997 to serve as a state representative for one of the most diverse districts in Massachusetts, focusing on creating jobs, protecting workers' rights, expanding mental health treatment, and investing in public transit, the department wrote on its website.

Following his time as a state representative and before becoming the U.S. Secretary of Labor, Walsh spent the last seven years as the mayor of Boston, leading the creation of close to 140,000 jobs and helping to secure a statewide $15/hour minimum wage, paid sick leave, and paid parental leave, the biography said.
Walsh will become the first Executive Director of the NHLPA without a legal background, according to the Daily Faceoff.
