Goat Head Found On Car In Hyde Park With Car Owner's Photo

In odd news territory.

BOSTON, MA — A woman in Boston’s Hyde Park neighborhood woke up this morning and took her dog out for a walk around 6 a.m. As she was walking near her car on Garfield Ave she noticed it looked like there was something on her car. As she got closer she noticed blood.

Something tells us she was not expecting what she saw next: the severed head of some kind of animal was on the hood of her car.

The woman drove to the Hyde Park police station with the animal head on the hood, walked in, and told the person at the desk what had happened. Police found a picture of the woman under the wipers and determined later it was a goat's head.

Sgt. John Boyle, a police spokesman, told Patch the detectives had processed the crime scene and were working on the case.

“Animal control took the remains of the goat,” Boyle said. “Detectives are investigating this incident.”

So far there are no preliminary bias indicators that would put this in a category of a hate crime, he said. And although the sergeant said he didn't have the data in front of him to say whether this had ever happened in Boston before. "I've certainly never heard of anything like this," he told Patch.

Police said if anyone has any information on the situation to give them a call (and then email me jenna.fisher@Patch.com cause I want to know what happened, too).
