Boston Ranked Among Best Cities For Gen Z Grads

BOSTON — Boston was recently ranked among the nation’s top cities for new college graduates.

Redfin and Glassdoor partnered to rank the best big, medium and small U.S. metro areas for graduates based on 13 indicators across career opportunity, housing affordability and urban quality of life.

The best three big cities were Washington, Omaha and Boston, respectively. New Orleans, Palm Bay and Wichita took the top spots in the mid-size category, while Springfield, Illinois, Santa Fe and Panama City were ranked the best small cities.

Average early-career earnings in Boston total $80,026, the highest average starting salary out of the top 10 large cities, according to Refin.

“Boston naturally has a big population of young people because there are so many colleges here, from Harvard to MIT to Boston College,” Redfin Premier agent Aditi Jain told the real estate website. “A lot of employers have offices in Boston to attract grads from those prestigious places and keep them in the city."
