Harry Parker Boathouse Invites Individuals to Learn to Row on June 25

BOSTON, MA [June 21, 2022]—On Saturday, June 25, Community Rowing, Inc. (CRI) invites members of the Boston community to visit the Harry Parker Boathouse during a “River Open House” event, in celebration of National Learn to Row Day. Stop by anytime between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and learn to row with certified coaches and training equipment.

Located on a beautifully restored Charles River, CRI is internationally recognized for the dynamic and diverse community it serves and holds the distinction of being the largest public access rowing organization in North America.

Since the start of this year, it has received over $100,000 from foundation partners designated to its Let’s Row programming, which increases inclusion and accessibility in the sport of rowing at the middle and high school levels. Let’s Row connects Boston Public Schools to the sport of rowing by bringing rowing machines to over 40 Boston Public Schools for physical education classes and after school programs; Let’s Row also connects CRI with local youth organizations to host field trips that include on-the-water rowing.

Two of these grants were awarded by Brighton Marine and Hamilton Company Charitable Foundation. Both foundations support programs and initiatives for the Allston-Brighton community.
