July 4 In Boston: T Is Free After 9:30 p.m.
All the officials are recommending folks take public transportation if they're headed to the Esplanade to watch the Boston July 4 events.

BOSTON, MA — One of the nice things about Fourth of July in Boston is that it's a day when Storrow Drive closes down and is taken over by folks in the Independence Day spirit and thousands of people, complete with a military flyover and concert on the Charles River and tons of your neighbors decked out in red, white and blue. Seeing as all those people have to figure out a way to get to the Charles and then get home, the MBTA gets into the spirit, too. The T is free after 9:30 p.m. So if you're headed to catch a glimpse of the action that starts at 10:30 p.m. you don't have to worry about flashing that MBTA card.
Here's a look at the T schedule today, courtesy of the MBTA:
MBTA routes operate on weekend schedules for most major federal and state holidays.
