MA Weather Forecast: No Fooling, April Snow On Its Way

Get ready to get a few more inches of snow over the next 24 hours.

March is over. Winter is over. But the snow, it appears, is not over. Forecasters are warning of a bit of accumulating snow at the tail end of Easter Sunday into Monday.

A thin band of snow is moving eastward toward New England, and depending on the timing and track of the storm, there could be some snowy roads for your Monday morning commute. Right now the South Coast is due to get the most snow at 3-4 inches, with the Boston area expected to get 1-2. Northern Mass. may just get a dusting.

The storm's width is so narrow that a small adjustment either way could mean a bit more snow or no snow at all. But as of Easter morning, here's the projection:

"This snow event will last 6 hours or less in any one community, but that will be enough time to whiten the ground with some areas also facing slick travel," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski said.

Because the snow will be coming mostly overnight, it'll be cool enough to stick to the ground and accumulate. But the good news is that even if the worst-case scenario is realized, it shouldn't impact travel for very long. The temperatures are expected rebound into the 40s by Monday afternoon and the snow will melt away.
