Man Sentenced for 'Sextortion' Campaign Against College Student
The man threatened to release privately sent nude photos and videos of the Boston-area college student to her parents and Twitter followers.

BOSTON, MA - A man was sentenced Thursday in a Boston court for a "sextortion" campaign against a Boston-area college student, the Justice Department said today.
James F. Connor V, 20, of West Chester, Pa., was sentenced in U.S. District Court to time served, three years of supervised release, the first 10 months to be served in home confinement, a $5,000 fine and 500 hours of community service. Connor had pleaded guilty in January to one count of cyberstalking and one count of extortion.
Connor and the victim started an online relationship in 2012, according to the Justice Department. The victim sent nude pictures and videos over the internet and social media, which Connor saved.

After the relationship ended, he used those pictures to initiate a "campaign of harassment and intimidation," according to the Justice Department. He also threatened her with physical harm and said he would post her private photos and videos.
The Justice Department said Connor also said he would kill himself if the victim didn't keep in contact with him and answer his phone calls.

In September 2015, Connor began to blackmail the victim into more sexual photos and videos, threatening that he'd send her past photos and videos to her parents and Twitter followers.
Connor was arrested and charged in October after the victim reported the harassment.
