Massachusetts School Closings, Delays Feb. 9

Here's what districts have been impacted by Thursday's messy weather.

Massachusetts is expected to get slammed by a nor'easter Thursday, dumping as much as a foot of snow on some regions. Officials have already asked motorists to try and stay off the roads, in light of a slew of frightening traffic accidents across the state Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning most of the state from 4 a.m. Thursday until 8 p.m. A Blizzard Warning will be in effect for Coastal Plymouth and the Cape and Islands from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The NWS is warning of "heavy snow," 8-12 inches across most of Massachusetts, with a bit less in the Cape and Islands.

Several school districts in Patch towns have already canceled school Thursday, and many more are expected to follow. Here's a list of school closings so far:
