BOSTON, MA — A new hotel has officially opened its doors in Boston.
The Atlas Hotel debuted in Boston’s Allston neighborhood this week, according to a Wednesday news release. Located next to Harvard University’s Enterprise Research Campus, the upscale boutique hotel features 246 rooms and 12 suites and is slated to host two new dining options and a retail space.
The Atlas, at 40 Western Ave., was developed by real estate company Tishman Speyer in collaboration with Harvard University. It also sits next to the university’s new conference center, The David Rubenstein Treehouse.

The hotel’s ground floor hosts a new restaurant, Ama, which opened on Wednesday. The eatery will be led by Biplaw Rai and Nyacko Pearl Perry of Pearl & Law Hospitality, the team behind Comfort Kitchen in Dorchester, which was named a 2024 James Beard Award Finalist for Best New Restaurant.
The group will open a 7,000-square-foot rooftop bar, Foxglove Terrace, which is set to open this spring.

The COOP will also debut another retail store in the hotel this spring. The retailer, founded in Harvard Square in 1882, sells textbooks, apparel, and merchandise for Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The hotel also offers meeting and event spaces, a fitness center, and an outdoor terrace.
"The Atlas marks a new era for hospitality in Boston," says General Manager Arnaldo Almonte. "Luxury hotels with classic New England elegance are commonplace. We are proud to offer a fresh, modern and elevated experience that reflects the city's innovation while honoring local heritage.”
