Red Line Will Skip Station During Weekend Work
The service interruption on Sept. 24 and 25 is the first of three coming in the next few weeks.

BOSTON, MA — Red Line riders from north of the Charles River will see a service disruption this weekend.
Southbound Red Line trains will skip the Kendall Square/MIT stop on Saturday and Sunday due to construction work, according to the T. Anyone who needs to reach the station will be directed to take a northbound train from the Charles/Mass General stop across the river.
During the work, the T will be working on the "headhouse" part of the Kendall/MIT station, which is the portion that sticks up above ground.

This weekend's work is the first in a series of Red Line disruptions. On Oct. 1 and 2, shuttle buses will replace trains between JFK/UMass and Broadway; and on Oct 3 to 6, buses will replace trains after 8:45 p.m. nightly between JFK/UMass and Ashmont. Those disruptions will allow the T to do track work along the line.
