RI Weather Forecast: No-Doubter Storm Heads Our Way Tonight
Expect downpours, dense fog, and possible flooding for a 24-hour stretch this weekend.

A hazardous weather outlook has been called for Rhode Island as a rainstorm moves through Saturday night into Sunday, bringing with it the possibility of downpours, flooding, and dense fog. The rain will begin around 4 or 5 p.m. and stick around for about 24 hours, leaving some time late Sunday afternoon.
There isn't much doubt to this storm. The rain will intensify as the night drags on and pound the region Sunday. Both Saturday night and Sunday have a 100 percent chance of rain, according to Weather.com
There is little risk of snow during this storm as temperatures are expected to stay in the mid 40s Saturday. The possibility of a wintry mix is at play, especially Sunday as temperatures get a bit closer to freezing.

The regions at risk of the heaviest rainfall are from the Mass. Pike to the south coasts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island on Sunday, the NWS said. Southeastern Mass. in particular should prepare to get the worst of it.
Forecasters are also warning about a far-reaching fog that will limit visibility and impact travel, whether on the ground or in the air. The fog will settle Saturday night and Sunday morning.

While some wet weather is expected in the short term, forecasters say another return of the arctic air isn't expected. That could mean we've gotten past the bitter cold stretches we may remember this winter for.
