Tyler Lawrence Shooting: Boston Man Arrested In 13-Year-Old's Death
Lawrence, 13, was shot to death in Mattapan on a Sunday morning in late January.

BOSTON, MA — A Boston man has been arrested and charged in the Jan. 29 fatal shooting of Tyler Lawrence, a 13-year-old Norwood boy who was visiting his grandparents in Mattapan.
The shooting happened at around 11:30 a.m. in along Babson Street, where Boston police said they found the Coakley Middle School schooler with gunshot wounds.
Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said Monday he would seek a first-degree murder charge against Csean Skerritt, 34, in Lawrence's death. Skerritt will be arraigned at Dorchester Municipal Court soon, Hayden said.

It's unclear why Lawrence was shot, but the boy's death sparked outrage and sadness in Boston and Norwood. His family held a vigil for him Sunday in Norwood.
Skerritt was charged in Lawrence's killing after appearing in federal court on an unrelated drug distribution charge, according to authorities.
