U.S. Rep. Katherine Clark's Daughter Arrested At Boston Protest
The Democratic Minority Whip's daughter was caught vandalizing property, according to Boston police.

BOSTON, MA — U.S. Rep. Katherine Clark's daughter was arrested Saturday in Boston after a vandalism incident at the Parkman Bandstand Monument, according to police.
According to Boston police, an officer tried to arrest Clark's daughter, Riley Dowell, 23, after she was seen spray-painting anti-police messages near the bandstand. Boston police said a crowd surrounded the officer during the arrest.
"While interfering with the arrest of [Riley] Dowell, an officer was hit in the face and could be seen bleeding from the nose and mouth," Boston police reported.

Clark acknowledged the arrest in a statement Sunday evening.
“Last night, my daughter was arrested in Boston, Massachusetts. I love Riley, and this is a very difficult time in the cycle of joy and pain in parenting. This will be evaluated by the legal system, and I am confident in that process.”

Clark's daughter was arrested on charges of assault by means of a dangerous weapon, destruction or injury of personal property and damage by graffiti.
Clark represents the 5th Congressional District, which covers parts of Middlesex County from Melrose west to Framingham. Clark was elected the minority whip of the House following the Republican takeover after the November election.
