Wayfair Eyes Marshall's On Boylston Street For First Showroom
The online home furnishings giant could move into the space currently occupied by Marshalls.
BOSTON, MA — As retailers across the country work to find new ways to lure customers back into their store amid online competition, Wayfair the online home furnishings store with corporate offices at Copley Place, is looking to take its business off the computer screen and into the store with its first brick-and-mortar store - in Boston.
The online furniture retailer plans to open an actual showroom and, according to the Boston Business Journal, it's looking at doing so in the Marshall's space at 500 Boylston St. to set up shop. In the meantime, Marshalls is set to close up in early June, according to the Journal.
