Woman Charged With Stabbing Husband to Death

A woman charged today with stabbing her husband to death in a Mission Hill residence has been sent for a competency evaluation, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley.
Karen Edwards, 36, of Brooklyn, was arraigned at West Roxbury Municipal Court Friday morning for allegedly stabbing her 37-year-old husband Collins Edwards in the chest with a large knife shortly after midnight, prosecutors say.
Edwards is being held without bail and has been sent to Solomon Carter Fuller Center for a 20-day evaluation at the prosecution's request.

According to the prosecution, Karen and Collins Edwards were with two other people when a verbal argument broke out. Edwards allegedly told her husband she was going to stab him, got a large knife from the kitchen, and stabbed him in the chest.
Collins Edwards fled the scene, but his wife chased after him, prosecutors say. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Karen Edwards allegedly admitted to Boston Police that she had stabbed her husband. The prosecution said she did not have any injuries.
Edwards will return to court Oct. 27.
