(bostonglobe.com) — Bourne's fire chief says the town escaped major damage from the long‑lasting nor'easter, despite nearly 8 inches of rain in surrounding areas and one downed utility pole. Officials across Massachusetts, from Sharon to Nantucket and Provincetown, describe mostly manageable flooding and outages, crediting advance preparation and the storm's slow, spread‑out rainfall for limiting serious impacts. 
• Nearly $1B in federal funding authorized for Sagamore Bridge replacement megaproject (nbcboston.com) — Major federal funding has been authorized to replace the Sagamore Bridge, with state officials now moving into the bidding phase and eyeing completion in the 2030s. As work ramps up, they're also pushing for similar funding to replace the aging Bourne Bridge, a critical gateway that directly affects local traffic, safety, and daily commutes for Bourne residents.
