When a Weymouth Police officer was found unresponsive, Braintree Officers John Hurley, Rich Hale, and Steve Wallace, stepped in to save him.

BRAINTREE, MA — Three Braintree police officers were recognized Thursday for saving the life of a Weymouth police officer. Officers John Hurley, Rich Hale, and Steve Wallace were honored at the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee First Responder Award Ceremony at Bentley University.
In August 2018, the three officers were called to Granite Street after a report of an unresponsive man in his car. Police said that man was Weymouth police Officer Edward Hancock. Hancock had suffered a massive heart attack, while in the passenger seat of his car.
The Braintree officers started CPR and used Wallace's defibrillator to restart Hancock's heart.
