4 Charged After Crashing Stolen Car Near Braintree High School
Four juveniles face charges after refusing a traffic stop, backing into a police cruiser and eventually crashing the car, police said.
BRAINTREE, MA — Four juveniles are facing charges after they stole a car in Randolph before eventually crashing it in Braintree, police said.
On Friday around 2:30 p.m., police said a vehicle was stolen from the parking lot at 27 Warren St. in Randolph.
Police eventually tracked down the vehicle and tried to conduct a traffic stop. However, police said the driver, a 17-year-old, refused to stop and reversed the car into a Randolph police cruiser near the Braintree town line.

According to police, three occupants got out of the vehicle at that time and fled on foot into a nearby neighborhood.
Police said the driver didn't get out of the car, instead driving it across the Braintree line. At that point, Randolph officers ended the pursuit.

The vehicle was later found crashed near Braintree High School, police said.
Braintree police eventually took the driver into custody, and police located the other three occupants, one 17-year-old and two 16-year-olds, by around 4 p.m.
All are charged with receiving a stolen car, and the 17-year-old occupant is charged with carrying a switchblade. The driver is also charged with failure to stop for police, operating on a suspended license, reckless operation and leaving the scene of an accident.
