Autism Awareness Ceremony Tuesday at Braintree Town Hall
The sixth annual World Autism Awareness Day is April 2, 2013

The following is from the Office of Mayor Joseph Sullivan
Mayor Joseph C. Sullivan will declare April to be Autism awareness month in Braintree during a ceremony to be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 5pm in the Carl Johnson Memorial Chambers at Braintree Town Hall. Sullivan will begin the ceremony by signing and sealing a Proclamation followed by the lighting of a blue candle in the window of Town Hall.
“1 in every 88 children will be diagnosed with some form of Autism” said Sullivan. “While we have taken giant steps forward in the understanding and treatment of Autism, we still have a long way to go. Declaring April to be Autism awareness month we not only encourage people to learn more about Autism, we recognize the wonderful work being done right here in Braintree by the Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) and the Braintree Autism Network for our Daughters and Sons (BANDS).”
Residents are cordially invited to attend Tuesday’s ceremony. Anyone with questions should feel free to contact the Mayor’s office at 781-794-8100.
