Since 1988, El Sarape has been serving up authentic Mexican fare in Weymouth Landing. Whether you’re looking for the more traditional Mexican offerings like fajitas, nachos, and tacos, or more authentic dishes, El Sarape is an excellent choice and is open for both lunch and dinner.
Among the lunch menu items are Queso Asado, a baked mixture of Meunster and Cheddar cheeses with the kick of chorizo sausage. Other items include the Carnitas, which is grilled pork tenderloin and Arracheras, grilled beef and onions. House salad, guacamole, and nachos are also available. Prices start around $5.00 for lunch.
The dinner menu is extensive and includes traditional items such as Burritos, Tacos, and Enchiladas, served with either chicken or beef and your choice of green, red, or mole sauce. Among the favorites are Fajitas (either chicken or beef) and the Guisado, which is chicken or beef casserole mixed with potatoes and onions and covered in a red chile sauce or a red tomato sauce. A spicy pork tenderloin dish and a rib eye steak (available weekends only) round out the menu. Seafood offerings include shrimp and fresh fillets of fish served either grilled, battered, or sautéed. Dinner entrée’s start at $9.

Whenever I’ve been, the bar’s been hopping, and it’s no wonder. With more than 50 different brands of tequila, El Sarape serves about 15 different margaritas. A homemade sangria, as well as Mexican beers such as Dos Equis, Negra Modelo, and of course Corona, are among the full service bar offerings.
El Sarape also has free wireless throughout the restaurant, so it’s the perfect spot to keep in touch with the office and have a bite to eat. And live entertainment is provided on the weekends.
