UPDATE: Bleacher Repairs Moves Braintree Football Opener
The home-side bleachers are in need of repair and that could mean a new venue for the first Braintree HS football game of the year.

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree officials are hoping for quick work when it comes to repairing the bleachers at the Braintree High School track and turf field, but the football team could be playing at least one home game away from home.
Building Inspector Russell Forsberg told the school committee Monday that issues with the stands were discovered during a routine inspection. Further evaluation indicated that the home-side bleachers are not safe for use.
While town officials indicated that the repairs should not take long, Braintree High School Athletic Director Michael Denise said the Wamps' Sept. 8 football game against Quincy could get moved to Archbishop Williams High School. Braintree football head coach Brian Chamberlain confirmed Wednesday that the game has been moved.

When asked if any football match dates would be need to be moved if further games are placed at Archbishop Williams, Denise said he did not think it would be necessary.
Other sports such as field hockey, soccer, and cross country can continue to use the field for matches and meets, but football faces a move due to the larger crowds that the games often attract. Spectators at the field are asked to use the visitor-side bleachers during repairs.
