BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree was awarded a five-year Drug-Free Communities Support Program grant recently, securing more than $100,000 over the next half-decade.

The grant is awarded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and, Braintree officials said, is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the Town's Substance Use Prevention Coordinator, Lyn Frano, and members of the Braintree Community Partnership.

The grant itself is designed to support community-based efforts to prevent and reduce youth substance use.
