Child Hit By SUV And Critically Injured: Braintree Police
The child was riding a bicycle when he was hit by the SUV and suffered serious head and upper body injuries, police said.
BRAINTREE, MA — A child was critically injured when he was hit by a SUV while riding a bicycle, police said.
The child was hit about 4:45 p.m. Friday in the intersection of Arthur Street and Gordon Road, the Braintree police said in a media release.
Responding officers "located a young boy unconscious in the roadway suffering from significant head and upper body injuries," the release said.

"Officers immediately began providing emergency medical assistance, joined by several courageous bystanders who jumped in to help until additional medical resources arrived, according to the release.
The child was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, per the release.

"The preliminary investigation indicates the boy was traveling on Arthur Street in the direction of Watson Park when he entered the intersection of Arthur Street and Gordon Road and came into contact with an SUV," the release said.
The matter remains under investigation, according to the release.
