BRAINTREE, MA — The Braintree Town Council approved a new four-year lease agreement with the Norfolk County Sheriff's Office at 2015 Washington Street, which includes higher rent payments than the prior term.

Braintree and the Sheriff's Office have had a long-term agreement to use the Washington Street property dating back to 2012. There are five buildings on the property, as well as a ropes course that is an important part of the leadership camp that is run there every year.

The rent has been over $77,000 for the period of 2018-2021, and Braintree officials said that rent would be increasing moving forward. A one-year term was entered for 2022, but officials reached an agreement on a new four-year term for $113,789, payable in monthly installments.
