Braintree Cuts Cake for Town Hall's 100th Birthday
Town Hall was completed on June 26, 2013.
As Braintree prepared to celebration the 100th birthday of Town Hall, Mayor Joseph Sullivan said several people asked him why the town was celebrating a building.
"The truth is that the building is the representation of our government," Sullivan said to those gathered to cut a cake in honor of the birthday Wednesday afternoon.
Residents, town officials and employees crowded onto the new wooden floors of the Town Hall lobby to eat cake and then check out historic photographs of the building from the Braintree Historical Society.
Montilio's Bakery provided the cake and Fasano's Catering provided services and beverages. Paul Agnew lead the crowd in a rendition of Happy Birthday and longtime resident and amateur town historian Nancy Nicosia helped cut the cake with Sullivan.
