At about 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Braintree police received a 911 call from a sales associate at CVS pharmacy at 884 Washington St. reporting that he had just been the victim of a robbery, officials said.
The employee stated that after entering the store, a man "wandered around the store and waited for other customers to leave." He then approached the register and stated, “I have a gun in my bag, you’re getting robbed, give me the money.”
He was wearing all black, a surgical mask, and brown work boots. He appears to have left on foot, officials said.
Multiple police units converged onto the scene along with a K9 Unit, officials said. An area school was notified and advised to shelter-in-place.
After two hours of "extensive searching", it was determined that the suspect was no longer in the area and the police discontinued their search.
