Braintree Hit by Creepy Clown Prank
Police say a report of a home invasion was actually a prank by a neighborhood teen.

BRAINTREE, MA — After striking 10 states and some Massachusetts towns, Braintree has their own creepy clown sighting.
Monday night, police in Braintree received a report of an armed person dressed as a clown trying to enter their home. Police later learned that the clown was a neighborhood teen who was attempting to scare a neighbor that they knew.
Police, as expected, were unamused.

"Officers don’t know if something is a prank in advance and it is a safety concern to assume otherwise. We only know what is communicated to us via 911. Aside from one motorist on a motorcycle crashing as they attempted to get away from the blue lights going to this scene, we are fortunate no one else was hurt getting to the scene or at the scene," police wrote on Facebook. "This prank tied up valuable resources and caused an accident. Parents, please talk to your children about the seriousness of their actions."
The recent clown phenomenon is no stranger to Massachusetts. Earlier Tuesday, it was reported that some students at Dedham High School received vague text messages about clowns from an unknown numbers. At Merrimack College, a shelter in place was called and a dorm was evacuated Monday night amidst reports of an armed clown on campus.
